Refund Policy

Thank you for your support of Yati Narasimhanand Saraswati Foundation and our spiritual and charitable activities. This Refund Policy outlines our procedures regarding refunds for donations, contributions, and other payments made to our organization.

1. General Donation Policy

The Yati Narasimhanand Saraswati Foundation is a registered charitable organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Hindu Dharma, supporting community welfare, and maintaining temple activities. As such, we operate as a non-profit entity in accordance with applicable regulations.

While we deeply appreciate the generous contributions from our supporters, we want to provide clear guidelines regarding our refund policy for different types of contributions.

2. Charitable Donations

In line with standard practices for charitable organizations:

  • Charitable donations are generally non-refundable as they are intended to support our mission and ongoing charitable activities.
  • These donations may be eligible for tax benefits under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act (for donations within India) or applicable tax laws in your country of residence.
  • Once a donation is processed, it is immediately allocated toward our programs and charitable activities.

3. Special Circumstances for Refunds

We recognize that certain situations may warrant consideration for a refund. The following special circumstances may be eligible for refund consideration:

3.1 Technical Errors and Duplicate Transactions

  • If you have experienced a technical error resulting in a duplicate donation (the same donation processed more than once).
  • If you made a donation in an incorrect amount due to a technical error (e.g., an additional zero was added to the intended amount).
  • If your donation was charged multiple times due to payment processing errors.

3.2 Unauthorized Transactions

  • If a donation was made using your payment information without your knowledge or authorization.
  • If the donation was made by someone without legal capacity to authorize such transactions (e.g., a minor child using a parent's payment information without permission).

3.3 Specific Purpose Donations

  • If you made a donation for a specific program or purpose, and we are unable to use the funds for that specific purpose due to circumstances beyond our control.
  • If an event or program for which you made a specific donation has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.

4. Refund Request Process

    • More than 14 days before the event/program: Full refund minus a processing fee of 5%
    • 7-14 days before the event/program: 50% refund
    • Less than 7 days before the event/program: No refund
  • Cancellation by Organization: If we cancel an event or program, participants will be offered either:
    • A full refund of the registration fee
    • The option to transfer the registration to a future event or program
    • The option to convert the fee into a tax-deductible donation

6. Merchandise Purchases

For purchases of books, religious items, or other merchandise:

  • Return Period: Items may be returned within 14 days of receipt if they are in original, unused condition with all packaging intact.
  • Return Process: Please contact us using the information below to initiate a return and receive return shipping instructions.
  • Refund Timing: Refunds for returned merchandise will be processed within 14 days of our receipt of the returned items in acceptable condition.
  • Shipping Costs: Original shipping costs are non-refundable. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to our error (damaged or incorrect items).

7. Important Notes

  • Tax Implications: Please note that if you received a tax receipt for your donation, and we issue a refund, you may need to amend your tax filings as refunded donations are not eligible for tax benefits.
  • Documentation: We maintain detailed records of all donations and refunds in accordance with accounting standards and legal requirements.
  • Discretion: The Yati Narasimhanand Saraswati Foundation reserves the right to make final decisions regarding refund requests based on the specific circumstances and in accordance with our policies and applicable laws.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify donors of any material changes by posting the updated Refund Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this Refund Policy periodically.
